The best time to visit this region is from October to May when the weather is pleasant and the monsoon season has ended. This trip is ideal for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those interested in exploring the unique culture and heritage of Northeast India.
DAY 1 : Guwahati Airport - Shillong (100 km / 3 hours)
Arrive at Guwahati airport and travel to Shillong, the "Scotland of the East" and the capital
city of Meghalaya. Visit the Umiam Lake, one of the largest artificial lakes in Northeast
India, and the Don Bosco Museum to learn about the culture and heritage of Northeast
India.
DAY 2 : Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong (70 km / 2.5 hours each way)
Drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on Earth, and visit the Nohkalikai Falls, Seven
Sisters Falls, and the Mawsmai Cave.
DAY 3 : Shillong - Mwallynong - Shillong (90 km / 3 hours each way)
Drive to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia, and witness the community's sustainable
lifestyle. Visit the Living Root Bridges, unique to the region, and explore the natural beauty
of the area.
DAY 4 : Shillong - Tezpura (210 km / 5.5 hours)
Drive to Tezpur, a city known for its rich history and archaeological sites. Visit the Agnigarh
Hill, Mahabhairav Temple, and the Cole Park.
DAY 5 : Tezpur - Bomdila(160 km / 5 hours)
Drive to Bomdila, a picturesque town in Arunachal Pradesh, and visit the Bomdila
Monastery and the Lower Gompa.
DAY 6 : Bomdila - Tawang(180 km / 6 hours)
Drive to Tawang, one of the most scenic places in Northeast India. En route, visit the Sela
Pass and the Jaswantgarh War Memorial.
DAY 7 : Tawang
Explore Tawang, a town known for its ancient monasteries and stunning views. Visit the
Tawang Monastery, the second-largest monastery in Asia, and the Tawang War Memorial.
DAY 8 : Tawang
Visit the Bumla Pass, located at an altitude of 15,200 feet, and experience the breathtaking
views of the snow-capped mountains.
DAY 9 : Tawang - Dirang(140 km / 5 hours)
Drive to Dirang, a small town in Arunachal Pradesh known for its natural beauty and hot
water springs. En route, visit the Sangti Valley and the Yak Research Centre.
DAY 10 : Dirang - Guwahati(340 km / 9 hours)
Drive to Guwahati and visit the Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered shrines in
Northeast India, and the Umananda Temple, located on an island in the Brahmaputra River.
DAY 11 : Guwahati
Explore Guwahati and visit the Assam State Museum, the Assam State Zoo, and the Nehru
Park.
